This month's banner features the flag on my office wall.
July 2019 is the 35th month in which I have tracked my productivity.
My average amount of productive hours per day (from all categories) was 2.28 hours.
For the month of July 2019, my only goal was to work hard in my Introduction to Database Systems class. I ended up with an A in the class, so I'll call that a success. Overall, I enjoyed the class. It was a much heavier workload than expected, but I welcome the surprise. I learned a thing or two about relational databases, but unfortunately I feel that a single class is only barely enough to scratch the surface. I will consider taking further classes on databases as I work on my degree.
By the way, I have officially been accepted to Georgia Tech's OMSCS program. I start in the Spring 2020 semester. Until then, I will continue to take classes at UIS. Coming up this next semeser (Fall 2019), I've got Computer Organization and Software Engineering Capstone. I know it sounds odd for me to be taking a capstone class when I don't even plan to continue the program at that school; but my understanding of the class is that it is sort of a general class teaching software engineering practices/methods. Either way, I'm looking forward to begin class on August 26.
In the meantime before class starts, my project is to build myself a new pc. I have all the parts ordered, and I will be putting everything together as soon as possible. My total cost (not including mouse, keyboard, speakers, monitors) was about $750. This pc should be capable of playing any newly released games on the highest graphics settings. I'm not reallly a big gamer, but I would like to have the option to play games less than 5 years old. I will most likely be keeping my current pc, but I'm not sure yet what I'll do with it. I may turn it into a linux machine just to play with.
In July 2019, my overall fitness hours totalled to 23.75 hours. I spent 10.5 hours lifting weights, and I spent 13.25 hours on cardio. My average lifting hours per week was 2.37 hours, and my average cardio hours per week was 2.99 hours.
My fitness hours were down a bit from last month, but that is to be expected with July 4 festivities.
Nothing to see here.
In this past month, I spent 0.75 hours doing other productive stuff.
